I love the randomness that life can bring sometimes.

This weekend was pretty jam packed. Open House Chicago. Peaches concert. Cubs in the playoffs. So, naturally we started off on Friday night by overdoing it with pickle backs.

Waking up late Saturday morning, I found myself in need of several Bloody Marys and a noon brunch at Trencherman in Wicker Park.

On a whim, we decided to hit Open House Chicago. Because walking around all day is what you do before a concert when you’re still hung over. Right?

A few stops along the way, I spied a line of food trucks near the Art Institute. Still full from brunch and donuts and not feeling great, I did what any sane person would do: get in line for a hot dog.

Though tempted by the poutine, I decided there was no way I was going to visit a hot dog truck without first getting a jumbo dog with all the fixings.

This truck has a serious sausage game going.
