Cucina di Strada
Ok, first objective accomplished: eat at Raging Kitchen. Check.
Now, on to these other mystery trucks. I've been at this a while folks, so I'm genuinely flabbergasted when I see a truck that's passed under my radar.
Enter Cucina di Strada.
I had a chat with the owner and got all the details. This truck originally launched last year. Where else? Huntley. In other words, right in my own back yard.
But, Doug had an injury that set him back, so Kane County Fair was his relaunch.
Lucky me!
See, Maya's Fusion Grill used to roll in Elgin. But, they closed up shop and moved to Florida. I had been getting used to the idea of hitting up a food truck without heading to Schaumburg or downtown.
So I am eagerly awaiting the schedule of this Italian truck, based out of Algonquin. That's just a hop, skip and a jump from my humble abode.
By this time, we realized we'd be eating from two more trucks, so we kept it light and got the meatball sub. Three monster meatballs, melted cheese and sauce all served up on a classic sausage roll.
That sandwich was a bit tricky to split, so we had to park it and attack with our plastic forks. It was an exercise in futility, but in short time, we devoured it.
Can't wait to try the pastas! Glad to see you're back on the road and in my neck of the woods.
Follow That Truck!
